Yesterday at Uma Tali Showroom, Viqueque, stakeholders, cooperatives, and local leaders gathered for the PAC meeting under the Agroforestry Skill Project. The meeting focused on reviewing project progress, addressing challenges, and planning upcoming activities to strengthen rural development and community livelihoods.
A major highlight was the handover of processing machines to six cooperatives, including equipment for copra husking, coconut grating, and animal feed production, accompanied by hands-on demonstrations for proper use.
Representatives emphasized the importance of responsible machine use, teamwork, and skill-building among youth, preparing cooperatives to compete regionally and enhance local livelihoods.
This initiative strengthens community resilience, sustainable development, and government-community collaboration, creating real opportunities for rural communities to thrive in Viqueque.
This activity was implemented by ADRA Timor-Leste, with support from the International Labour Organization (ILO) and funding from the European Union (EU). It demonstrates how working together can turn local resources into opportunities, strengthen agriculture, and support rural communities across Timor-Leste.
