ADRA Timor-Leste, as a CANDO (Church Agencies Network Disaster Operations)/HANAI member, together with Cruz Vermelha de Timor-Leste (CVTL) Viqueque and the Civil Protection Authority (CPA), conducts hands-on training to strengthen community flood preparedness and early warning systems, in Bahalaruain Village, Viqueque Municipality.

The training brings together local leaders, civil society organizations, volunteers, and community members, ensuring practical knowledge and skills are widely shared.

Participants learn to understand flood risks, early warning triggers, and preventive measures, enabling households and leaders to take proactive actions that protect lives, livestock, and livelihoods.

The workshop includes simulation exercises, evacuation drills, and emergency communication practice, giving communities hands-on experience to respond effectively during real disaster events.

This project is funded by the Australian Government through the Australian Humanitarian Partnership (AHP), which works with NGOs to save lives, reduce suffering, and enhance human dignity during disasters and humanitarian crises.
