Farmers in Uabubo Village have achieved a major milestone by successfully completing their first collective sale of Elephant Foot Yam (EFY), with 3.6 tons sold to the market.
Starting with EFY seed distribution in 2021, farmers worked patiently to improve production and strengthen market connections. This achievement marks a new opportunity for farmers who previously faced challenges finding reliable buyers.

Through the SHAPE Project, supported by the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and implemented by ADRA Timor-Leste in partnership with ADRA New Zealand, farmers are now better connected to markets, creating opportunities for increased income and improved livelihoods.
